Despair to Repair in the New Forest National Park

When it comes to installing new windows and doors, it usually goes without saying that the very least a customer might expect is that the elements stay on the outside of the home….

Not so in the case of our clients who live in the New Forest National Park in Hampshire. Happily, the Sussex Hardwood team was able to restore their faith, rescue their project and allow them to enjoy their beautiful home without consistent problematic leaks….

Project Brief : Direct Glazing Repairs

After investing a considerable amount of money in a brand new oak framed living room extension, the glazing and doors inadequately fitted by the original contractor had proved a complete disaster. The couple suffered the traumatic effects of consistent leaks for over three years following installation and also had to cope with a disappearing builder, an inadequate repair, and subsequently a stressful court case which they went on to win.

Understandably exhausted, disappointed, and disillusioned, the couple still had to tackle the replacement of the leaking doors and glazing which remained in situ.

Client Feedback :

“We were very reluctant to trust any more tradesmen but an expert consultant supplied a list of recommended contractors which included Sussex Hardwood. I contacted their Managing Director, Jeremy Doe, who invited me to visit their workshops and meet the team,” said Mr F. “Their work ethic and the oak they use was clearly superior to that of other firms I researched and after spending time at the workshop, I felt 100% confident in their ability. Jeremy took time to explain fully how the installation process meant that the glazing would be completely leakproof and the detail he provided convinced me he was a true expert. He also took me to meet and talk to former customers which instilled enormous confidence.”

Just a few weeks later, the couple finally had the happy ending they deserved and expertise on hand for any further problems. All the direct glazed windows, oak capping, and four sets of French doors at the property were completely removed and replaced by Jeremy’s trusted team of highly dependable, specialist carpenters and joiners. Finally, our clients were able to enjoy the beautiful, weatherproofed, and permanently leak-free living room they had set out to achieve.

“We would recommend Sussex Hardwood without hesitation based on their expertise, thorough attention to detail and superb proficiency. After such a bad experience initially, I only wish we had discovered Sussex Hardwood from the very beginning. We would never use anyone else now.”
